As you can see from the smile on Miss Terry’s face, she’s a very happy lady. Why is she so happy? Well, she’s married to me. How could she not be happy?

Actually, the truth is it’s because she got to do two of her favorite things yesterday – using tools to fix something and playing in her garden.
Granddaughter Hailey and her husband Toby are moving to a place with more space for Hailey’s horses, and they need to use our cargo trailer to get the job done. I had some things stored in the trailer, so yesterday we unloaded them and put them in the Mercedes van for now. Some of the metal edging around the sides of the trailer’s tailgate had gotten banged up over the years and Terry decided to fix them before they get any worse. This involved using a power drill, screwdrivers, and a ball peen hammer to bang them back into shape and get them secured with screws. I worked hard being her gopher while she was doing that.
That done, we checked out the plants in her greenhouse and outdoor raised garden beds. Everything is going crazy in both places! She has enough poblano peppers and tomatillos to keep a Mexican restaurant going for a month, a huge butternut squash as well as some smaller ones, tons of tomatoes, zucchini, and yellow squash, two big watermelons and at least one smaller one, and check out these cucumbers.

Terry says this year has been a learning experience for growing plants outside in Arizona and growing them in the greenhouse. From what I’m seeing, I think she’s learned quite a bit.
