So Proud Of Her!

Yesterday, our granddaughter Destiny graduated from the cosmetology program at Northland Pioneer College. She did it while also attending her senior year of high school, which she will graduate from on the 21^st. We are so proud of this hard-working, motivated young lady. She sets goals, and she does the work to accomplish them. We know she’s going to go far in life. Congratulations, Destiny. We love you.

Though she took her classes in Show Low, the graduation was held at the NPC satellite campus in Holbrook, about 50 miles north of us. We had planned to attend, but because of the heat they moved everything indoors and there was not enough seating for everyone who wanted to attend. So we stayed home and eagerly waited for Tiffany to send us a picture.

Well, Terry stayed home. In the morning, I ran over to the Show Low Elks Lodge, which is right around the corner from us, to check out the gun show. It was very crowded and larger than I expected, but I couldn’t find anything that screamed “take me home with you.” It’s probably just as well because I don’t think I could fit anything more in my gun safe.

Back at home, I spent some time cutting weeds in the backyard with the DR Pro XL trimmer mower and then I planted some clover in one of the bare areas that turn to mud when it rains. I have more planting to do, but it was getting late in the day and I was getting tired.

While I was doing that, Terry did several loads of laundry, put clean sheets on the bed, cleaned up hair from the dog and cats, which is a never-ending task, then proofread and edited the first seven chapters of my new book, Big Lake Homecoming. After I made her suggested corrections, I sent the chapters off to Judy and Roberta for them to go through.

When I was done with that, we had a dinner of red beans and rice and then settled in to watch a couple of hours of television before it was time to write the blog and call it a day.
