She’s A Dirty Girl

If you’ve ever met my wife, you know that she’s beautiful, talented, and one of the sweetest human beings you’ll ever have the honor of meeting. But I’ve got a little secret for you. She’s also a dirty girl. Even when we go to her parents’ house.

Terry’s mom has mentioned several times that she would like to be able to grow some herbs, and the other day, Terry ordered a couple of garden carts from Amazon. One for her and one for her mom.

When we got to Mesa yesterday, we stopped at Lowe’s and bought some herbs, a couple plants, plant food, and several bags of soil. Then we went to her parents’ house and Terry assembled her mom’s cart, which only took a few minutes and was relatively easy. I helped the best way I could, by staying out of the way.

When the cart was put together, we took it out on the patio and filled it with dirt and then Terry planted tomatoes, basil, dill, thyme, rosemary, red Romaine lettuce, and a couple of marigolds for color and to keep the insects away. Her mom was very happy, and her smile said it all.

Today I will be speaking at the Arizona Professional Writers Conference at the Western Spirit Museum of the West in Scottsdale. It’s been several years since I’ve done any kind of seminar or speaking gig, so I will admit that I’m a little bit nervous. Hopefully the members in attendance at the conference will find it worth their time. Wish me luck.
