Today is a special day in our family because it’s our daughter Tiffany’s birthday. My gosh, the years have gone by fast! I can still remember the day she was born and what a tiny pink bundle she was. When the nurse put her in my arms, I was so overcome with emotion that I was afraid I was going to drop her. I think the nurse was, too, because she stayed pretty close until I gave her back.
It seems like it was only a month or two ago that she learned how to walk and talk, and now she’s a mother of her own and about to become a grandmother for the first time! Can you believe that? I sure can’t.
Happy Birthday, Tiffany. I love you so very, very much. I am so proud of you and the woman and the wonderful person you have become. Thank you for letting me be your dad.

This isn’t our only birthday this month. Tiffany’s husband Kenny had a birthday on the sixth, and her daughter Destiny will have one Saturday. We buy a lot of gifts during April.
Unfortunately, I also have to send the government a big gift today. I honestly don’t mind paying taxes. I just have a problem with how a lot of our tax money is spent. We need to adjust our priorities in this country.
In other news, yesterday, Elizabeth Mackey sent me the cover for the print edition of Debt Collector and I got it uploaded to Amazon. It wasn’t live yet when I got ready to post the blog about midnight our time, but it should be by now unless there’s a glitch in their system. Hopefully not.
After reading yesterday’s blog, two different people took me to task for giving a rifle to a young kid. Let’s clarify a couple of things. First of all, I didn’t give the rifle to Vicente. I traded him for all of his hard work helping us get the cinders moved for our paths in the backyard. And he’s not a young kid. He is 18 and will turn 19 this summer. He is also not a careless or foolish young man. He was taught gun safety and he knows how to handle firearms. When I was his age, my Uncle Sam gave me a machinegun and sent me to a place where it was needed. Fortunately, Vicente will not have to worry about that. Although, the way things are going in the world now, who knows what could happen next week or next month? I sure hope not. As I’ve said many times, nobody hates war more than the guy who’s had to be in one.
Did you know that you can find all of my books and sign up for my free author’s newsletter on my website at www.nickrussellbooks.com?
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us. Something’s wrong here. The math isn’t mathing up.

Thought For The Day – To a father growing old nothing is more precious than a daughter.

I think you owe the young man at least 200 rounds of ammo. You are under paying him. That was a lot of work. Your wife deserves at least a fancy night out on the town. Then there is the manager/supervisor, can you ques who that was? He needs a special payment, maybe a new weapon since he decided to use one for payment. You are a good human being. Always glad to read your blog. Of course, we do not always agree. That makes the world and life more interesting. Keep up the good work.
