I’m back with more questions from blog readers. While I try to answer all questions individually, I also share some here occasionally.
Q. I like your new weekly author spotlight feature. I have two authors I really enjoy, besides you, that I wonder if you might consider doing features on. If so, how does that happen? Is there a charge for them to be featured?
A. Send me their names and a link to their Amazon pages or websites and let me check out their books. If I think they’ll be a good fit, I will contact them and see if they are interested. I don’t charge authors to be featured, but I appreciate it if they donate a book or two to our weekly blog drawing.
Q. Arthritis has made it hard for me to type, and I remember you talking about some kind of software program that you use for narrating your books. What is it, and do you still use it?
A. At one time I used Dragon dictating software, but I have given up on it because newer, less expensive, and more accurate options are available. These days I use WisprFlow when narrating into my computer and Plaud Note Pro recorder when away from the computer. Both work very well for my needs.
Q. Back when you were RVing, you published a book with a list of VFW posts that allowed members to park overnight. Do you still do that?
A. No, we stopped publishing all of our RV guides years ago. Without being on the road, it’s too hard to keep up with them and keep them updated.
Q. I keep hearing about all the wildfires they have out west. Are you worried about that now that you live in the mountains in Arizona?
A. I can’t think of any place that doesn’t have the possibility of some kind of natural disaster. We’ve dealt with hurricanes, tornadoes, and were even in a minor earthquake in Las Vegas once. As they say, you pay your money and you take your chances.
Q. Like you and Miss Terry, when we stopped RVing and hung up the keys, we bought a place in Florida. And like you, we decided it was a big mistake. Between the bugs, the humidity, the rising prices everything, and the political climate, we need to find some place more hospitable. I remember from being a long-time reader that you really like the Oregon and Washington coast. May I ask why you did not settle down there?
Q. We absolutely love the Pacific Northwest Coast, and we gave it a lot of thought. However, as we got older, our bones and joints did not like the cold and damp weather they get so much of up there. And we needed to be closer to our families here in Arizona.
Today is your last chance to enter our Free Drawing for an autographed copy of Randy Attwood’s Crazy About You. Service brats grow up on military bases. Asylum brats grow up on the grounds of mental hospitals where their parents work. Both juveniles and adults will be riveted by the story of high school asylum brat Brad’s week in 1964 that tests his sanity and grows him up faster than he ever wished
He thinks he’s in love with the schizophrenic teen, Suzanne, who has to be tied up to keep from picking her palms until they bleed. Only Brad believes her story that she is trying to cleanse her palms of her father’s semen. And only Brad believes he has the plan to save her when her father wants her released back into his care. But then the brutal murder of a townswoman and the missing status of her daughter, a nurse at the mental hospital, rivets the town’s attention. The lit fuses hit the dynamite on prom night when a group of patients in the building for the criminally insane hold guards hostage, and Alex Krout, squealing in his cell, waits for his chance to run amok.

Did you know that you can find all of my books and sign up for my free author’s newsletter on my website at www.nickrussellbooks.com?
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us.

Thought For The Day – A mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work if it is not open.

It was shared with my wife of why you chose not relocate to the Oregon or Washington coast? She said the same thing before she listened to you. Ditto and we are looking relocating. We will let you know we as my wife is 63 and I am 74.
We spent our winter in Tucson and stopped in Holbrook several times as we traveled to and back home. If we stop there again, what are a few places you would recommend we visit if we drop down to the White Mountain area?
Also, any success in selling your Alabama property or the Van?
