Yesterday was one of those rare days when I didn’t do a bit of work. Most days, if I’m not writing, I at least spend a few hours doing research and promotion and things like that. But not yesterday. I didn’t even think about any of that. I accomplished nothing. At least nothing worthwhile.
I never sleep well when we’re in a strange bed, like we were for the nights we were down in the Phoenix area. Though I slept pretty well when we got home Saturday night, yesterday morning I just felt lazy. After posting the blog to Facebook and having a light breakfast with Terry, I went outside and threw a ball for Alli for a while.
Then I came inside and settled into my recliner to read books on my Kindle. One of them was Your Mom’s Gonna Love Me, by stand-up comedian Matt Rife. Though he can certainly be rank at times, I love the man’s wit and quick responses when he’s working an audience. And though he teases people unmercifully, that’s what they come to shows for. I especially like the fact that he is not at all politically correct. People in a wheelchair, amputees, biracial couples, gay people, it doesn’t matter. Matt’s going to pick on you if you go to one of his shows. But at the same time, he’s always respectful, though that’s hard to explain. And those people in wheelchairs, and amputees, and gays, and biracial couples love every minute of it and usually come back for more the next time he’s in town.
After a delicious dinner of the green chili posole that Terry made for Christmas, we watched television for a while. Then I fiddled around with the Eufy security cameras that we brought from our house in Alabama, trying to get them set up. It took a while, but I managed to get the first one up and running, and now I know what to do with the next two.
Of course, we all know that Terry never stops. After taking care of her cats in the morning and making our breakfast, she vacuumed, did laundry, paid some bills online, and probably a dozen other things that I didn’t notice because I’m that kind of husband. What can I say? At least I’m cute as a bug. 😊
Congratulations, Jennifer Reissaus, winner of our drawing for a Camping Journal & RV Travel Logbook donated by Barbara House. Barbara makes several variations of these, and they all have pages where you can list the date, weather, where you traveled to and from that day, beginning and ending mileage, campground information including amenities at RV sites, a place for campground reviews, room to record activities, people met along the way, reminders of places to see and things to do the next time you’re in the area, and a page for notes for each day. Note: We have several of these books, with different covers. The cover displayed may or may not be the one received.

We had 15 entries this time around. Stay tuned, a new contest starts soon! Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books and audiobooks to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed.
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us.

Thought For The Day – Mr. Rogers did not adequately prepare me for this neighborhood.
