In spite of the fact that we had rain instead of snow, we had a wonderful Christmas Day with our daughter Tiffany, her husband Kenny, and their family. It’s the first time we have been here to celebrate the holiday with them since we went on the road as fulltime RVers in 1999. There’s no question about it, family time is the best time.
Terry bought me a beautiful and comfy Irish wool cardigan sweater for Christmas. I have wanted one of these for a long time, but I’m too cheap to spend that kind of money on myself. Thanks, baby. I love it.

Speaking of babies, in a blog post titled Gender Reveal several weeks ago, I told you that our granddaughter Hailey and her husband Toby are going to be presenting us with our first great-grandchild in April. Hailey is a tiny little thing, but she’s definitely got a baby bump going for her. She also makes no secret of the fact that while she’s excited to have a son on the way, she does not enjoy being pregnant. 😊 Only a few more months to go, honey. You can do it.
As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog, Tiffany wanted a Mexican-themed Christmas. So, Christmas dinner consisted of enchiladas, tamales, tacos, and other goodies from south of the border. It was the first time for Terry to make tamales, and they were a big hit.
We were tired by the time we got home and didn’t do much except watch some television, including the Christmas special of “Call the Midwife.” Then it was time to write the blog and go to bed. I hope your Christmas was as special as ours was, and here’s wishing you a very happy and healthy New Year.
Be sure to enter our latest Free Drawing. This week’s prize is an audiobook of Big Lake Honeymoon, the seventh book in my Big Lake mystery series. The busy summer season is drawing to a close in the little mountain town of Big Lake, Arizona and the locals are looking forward to a relaxing interlude before the first snowfall brings carloads of skiers to the high country. That all changes when a nearly nude woman rushes into a convenience store in the middle of the night begging for help. She tells Sheriff Jim Weber that her new husband has been murdered and she was taken captive by the mysterious killer, who seems to have disappeared into the thick forests of the White Mountains, touching off a manhunt for a phantom that cannot be found.

To enter, click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name (first and last) in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books and audiobooks to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed.
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us.

Thought For The Day – Not to brag, but I own an island. In my kitchen.

Terry was smart enough to wait until you lost all the weight (congratulations bty) to buy that beautiful sweater. An xxxl probably cost lots more than your current svelte size. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks for the stories!
