I Didn’t Do Much

In yesterday’s blog I said I would probably goof off most of the day before starting to work on my new Big Lake book this week. And true to my word, I didn’t do much. But I did manage to keep myself busy enough, anyway.

The day started with a bunch of e-mails, including one from a lady who said she had just finished reading my new Tinder Street book, Baby Boom. In the book, one of the characters is stationed at Camp Breckinridge in Kentucky in the early days of the Korean War. She said that her father was a career Army officer, and she was 10 years old when they were stationed there during that time period. She could never remember the name of the place as she got older, and since her parents and siblings were gone, there was nobody to ask. But as soon as she read the name in my book, all kinds of memories came flooding back to her. She thanked me for the trip down memory lane, and I replied with a couple of links to articles about the history of Camp Breckenridge.

I also got the formatted print edition of Baby Boom back from Scarlet yesterday. Now I just have to wait for Elizabeth to send me the cover for the print edition, and I will be ready to upload it to Amazon.

Though I said I wasn’t going to do much work, I did spend a couple of hours online doing research on the parole system in Arizona for my new Big Lake book. At least the day wasn’t a total waste.
