Tiffany and Kenny had invited us over for dinner yesterday, and when I found out that Kenny was cooking elk burgers, I was quick to say yes. I never pass up a free meal, and when it’s elk or venison, I’m always the first in line.
Before we left, I completed most of another chapter in Baby Boom, my new Tinder Street book. Between that, answering emails, and taking Alli out to the backyard for some ball chasing exercise, the day went very fast.
When we got to their house around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, an added treat was finding out that Kenny was also making elk jerky on his Traeger smoker. Could the day get any better than that?
As a matter of fact, it could, because once it came off the smoker and cooled down, Kenny gave us some jerky to munch on and also a bag to take home with us.
The elk burgers were big and delicious, and it’s one of the few times that have I regretted that the Mounjaro I’m taking for weight loss kills my appetite. Before I started taking it, I could have eaten another one of them.
By the way, how do you like my new look? Does it remind you of Cousin It from the Addams Family? No, I didn’t buy a bargain basement wig at a yard sale or flea market. Granddaughter Destiny is standing behind me with her head down and her hair hanging over my head. Back off, ladies! I know I look yummy, but I’m a married man.
Back at home, we were watching television when I got a text and then an email from the fraud alert department at Chase Bank. Apparently someone hacked my credit card and was trying to make several charges from $5 to $20 on Facebook. I told them it wasn’t me, and they canceled the charges and told me that they also closed my credit card and are sending me another one. The rep from the bank said I should get it in a day or two. It’s always something.
