Snow In August?

That’s what it looked like around our place yesterday. Our usual beautiful blue sky was dark and foreboding, looking like we might get a thunderstorm at any moment.

Then white flakes started coming down that you would have sworn were snow, but they weren’t. It was ash from a couple of wildfires in our area. When you live in fire country that’s always a concern. But according to local news sources, the fires are far enough away that they won’t impact us, except for negative air quality. Before long the deck and our truck were getting coated.

Since I spent the day inside writing more chapters for my new Tinder Street book, as I have for the last couple of days, I didn’t really care what the air was like outside. But when Kenny, Tiffany, and their daughter Britni came by in the afternoon, they said it was stinging their eyes.

We had a nice visit with them, and Terry made delicious pork cutlet sandwiches for dinner. Judging by the comments from everybody at the table, and the fact that every plate was cleared, I told Terry it was another successful meal. Of course, she just shrugged her shoulders and said it was just something she threw together in a hurry. If she can throw together something that amazing, just think what she can do when she has the time and puts her mind to it?
