Pampered In The Potty

When I say that Miss Terry spoils me, I’m not exaggerating. A better man than me would feel guilty by how she caters to me all the time, but I’m shallow enough that I just appreciate it and wait for whatever wonderful thing is coming next.

Recently she ordered a Leivi B01 Series smart bidet from Amazon and installed it in our bathroom. Talk about being pampered in the potty! I mean, a basic bidet is a pretty neat thing to have, but this one brings your bathroom experience to a whole new level!

It has a heated seat, adjustable water flow with adjustable temperature, an air dryer with adjustable temperature, a night light, auto flush and even a remote control. Basically, it does everything but turn the pages of the book I’m reading for me. I think that’s an option that Terry forgot to order.  As the Charmin TV commercials say, we all go, so let’s enjoy the go.

Thank you, Terry. My pampered posterior appreciates you.

Congratulations Patricia Schmidt, winner of our drawing for The Girl With The Red Hair, the true story of brave young World War II Dutch Resistance fighter Hannie Schaft. Unable to stand by and watch the brutality of the Nazis who occupied her country, sending her friends off to concentration camps and ruling with an iron fist, killing people just because they could, college student Hannie joined the Resistance and became a legend, loved by her countrymen and feared by the Nazis. Mastering the skills of an assassin and working with young sisters Trus and Freddie Oversteegen, Hannie was responsible for the deaths of numerous Nazi officials and turncoat Nazi sympathizers. She also became an expert at forging identification papers, helped to blow up a railroad station vital to the Nazi war effort, and a factory building rockets that were used to reign terror upon England. With her long red hair, she became known to enemies and supporters alike as The Girl With The Red Hair. She was so notorious that Adolf Hitler himself ordered her capture at all costs. When she finally was arrested, no amount of torture could get her to reveal the names of her comrades. To say that Hannie was a badass would be an understatement. On the day that she was executed, the first shot grazed the side of her head, knocking her off her feet. Dazed and so weak she could hardly stand, she managed to get back upright and taunted the German soldiers, saying, “I can shoot better than that!” I guarantee you that this is a book you won’t soon forget.

We had 73 entries this time around. Stay tuned, a new contest starts soon. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books and audiobooks to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed.

And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us.

Thought For The Day – Watch where you’re going, not where you’ve been.

  1. TMI !!! 🤣

  2. I was sick this spring and summer, so the last entry I had read was April 30th. It has taken me two or three weeks to catch up to all that has been happening in your lives, and Wow!, have you and Miss Terry had a busy last few months!

I love that you are closer to most of your family again and that you all see each other so much (and get along so well; Kenny is fortunate to have you for a father-in-law and you are blessed to have such a great son-in-law). During the time I was way from the blog, I kept Bess and family in my prayers and am so glad to see that she is still holding her own and that you two are able to be there for both of Terry’s parents during this time.

Looking forward to the next Tinder Street book, but appreciate that you take the time to do the research to make your historical novels realistic.

Continue enjoying your new home and being with family (oh, and congratulations on the weight loss).

  3. I am here to testify that once you have invested in a washlet bidet and learned to appreciate it, you can never go back. It is just an extra level of self-care and hygiene that leaves you feeling “daisy fresh” and happy.

I have no hesitation preaching the benefits of converting to the Bidet doubters, and have happily won a few converts.

    Enjoy, Nick!

  4. I have a Toto similar to yours. I made the switch about three years ago not only is it still exciting, it saves me a lot of money. The only downside is when you go someplace that doesn’t have one you You sit down and mudder as Enterprise engineer, Scotty would say : primitive : The only biggest problem you’ll have is don’t tell your children you have one if you know what I mean …. I’m glad you found your new room,,

  5. Thank you for the boot The Girl With the Red Hair, which arrived in my mailbox yesterday. I’m looking forward to reading it soon.
