Doggy Diva

Yesterday morning our granddaughter Hailey picked up Alli to take her to work with her at Classic Canine. As I said in a recent blog post, Hailey is a dog groomer with many regular customers who bring their pooches to her for their regular pampering, and she decided Alli deserved the diva treatment.

To be honest, I was surprised how readily Alli went with her because she’s usually glued to my hip 24/7. But Hailey definitely has a special rapport with dogs, and they got along fine. When Hailey brought her back a few hours later she was beautiful!

Hailey gave her the full treatment, including a bath, a blow dry, and clipping her nails. German shepherds are notorious shedders every month of the year, and there was a lot of fur flying during the process. Thank you, Hailey, you did an amazing job. 😊

Allie wasn’t the only one who got a makeover yesterday. I was beyond downright shaggy, so Terry took me out on the back deck and trimmed my hair and beard.  I look almost presentable to polite company now.

In other news, Terry and I are both avid readers, and I think I have unpacked the last of our books and brought them in from the garage. For know I just stuffed them into bookcases until I have time to organize them better.

That won’t be for a while yet, because today we are going down to Apache Junction to spend a few days with Terry’s mom and dad. It’s going to be very hot, into the triple digits. But it’s a dry heat, right? Yeah, it’s dry inside of an oven, too.

I think we have enough unpacked that once we get back, I can get my focus on writing again. I need to get back to Tinder Street and see what those nice folks are up to. I also plan to resume the weekly blog drawings, now that I have found and unpacked the prizes.

And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us.

  1. Ali looks so happy to be in her new home. Looks like things are settling in but it will be awhile before you can relax. I’m in Mesa close to AJ so if there is anything you need I’m here.

  2. Maybe next time your Grand-daughter takes Allie in for a full spa treatment, she can take you as well. Just make sure the dog collar around your neck isn’t too tight.
Just think how much more Terry can get done !
