She Spoils Me

We all know that Miss Terry spoils me. Whether it’s her delicious meals, a tray of piping hot peanut butter cookies right out of the oven, or a birthday cake every year. Not to mention doing so much to keep our home and business running smoothly and helping me with my physical issues. Yes, I have it good. But this week she really went the extra mile to pamper me. 😊

If you have read the blog for very long, you know I have a bad back that sometimes gives me a lot of grief. I never liked taking the pain meds the VA gave me for years, and when we lived in Florida, I started using medical marijuana oil, which helped reduce the pain level tremendously. Unfortunately, that is not an option here in Alabama at this time.

Sitting in the hot tub and letting the jets work me over helps, but there are times when that’s not convenient because it’s stormy or the wind is blowing too hard, or I just don’t have time to soak. So yesterday I received a gift that I know I’m going to love. In the early afternoon, two nice young men in a truck delivered a huge box from Amazon.

It took a while to get it open, and this was what was inside! A Real Relax Favor 08 full body massage chair. This thing is amazing! It has a zero-gravity setting, bluetooth, eighteen programmable modes, including yoga stretch, a foot roller, and more controls than my old Cessna airplane. You feel like you’re in a fighter jet cockpit when sitting in it. And believe me, after just one fifteen-minute massage, I fell in love with it.

As you can see by the smile on her face, so did Terry.

Besides receiving and unboxing the new chair, for much of yesterday we were also both busy working on Big Lake Accident, my new book. The final read through and corrections are at about the halfway mark, and unless something totally unexpected happens, I should be able to get it uploaded to Amazon sometime this evening or later tonight.

Be sure to enter our latest Free Drawing. This week’s prize is an audiobook of Big Lake, the first book in my Big Lake mystery series and the book that launched my career as an author. When an armored car hijacking leaves two men dead, Arizona Sheriff Jim Weber takes the crime personally, because one of the dead men is his brother-in-law. His hunt for the killers leads him into a world of sordid sex, deceit, and violence, with a suspect list that includes jilted women, a family of anti-government survivalists, and the beautiful wife of the richest man in town. With a plot that has more twists and turns than an Arizona mountain road, a cast of characters you won’t soon forget, and a shocking ending that shakes the town of Big Lake to its very foundation.

To enter, click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name (first and last) in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed. After 90 days, unclaimed prizes revert back to the drawing pool for a future contest.

And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us. No matter how tight your budget is, this is one of those times when I really recommend buying instead of renting.

Thought For The Day – I want to be a millionaire, just like my dad. He wanted to be a millionaire, too.

  1. Beautiful blog today, I’m jealous I like that new chair you just got. I have a bad back also, from an on the job work injury. We have been looking to purchase from Relax the Back Stores. They don’t have a store here where we live now, so I guess I will have to drive to California aka Taxafornia and buy one.

    Love the funny sign today.
