In yesterday’s blog, I mentioned that three different readers suggested we shock the water in our hot tub with a heavy dose of chlorine and see if it helped with the water turning green. We did that for two days in a row, and by yesterday afternoon, the water had cleared up and was looking normal. I took the filters out and rinsed them off thoroughly with a hose, and I think things are back to where they should be. Thanks for all the input, everybody.
I had hoped to set up our new Cove security system yesterday, but got sidetracked doing book promotion for Jackpot, my new John Lee Quarrels book, after I finished sending out my free author’s newsletter. As of 10:30 last night, it was at #17 on Amazon’s list of the top 100 Hot New Releases in its category of Mysteries and Police Procedurals and at #2,255 of all e-books available on Amazon.
Last week I showed you the beautiful barn quilt our son Travis made for us out of repurposed wood. While I was working on promotions for the new book yesterday, Terry hung it up in our living room. I think it looks awesome.
Besides that and writing checks for our end of the month bills, she also made a delicious dinner of spaghetti and homemade meatballs with homemade sauce. As good as it looks, it tasted even better. 😊
It’s Thursday, so it’s time for a new Free Drawing. This week’s prize is an RV camping journal donated by Barbara House. Barbara makes several variations of these, and they all have pages where you can list the date, weather, where you traveled to and from that day, beginning and ending mileage, campground information including amenities at RV sites, a place for campground reviews, room to record activities, people met along the way, reminders of places to see and things to do the next time you’re in the area, and a page for notes for each day.
To enter, click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name (first and last) in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed. After 90 days, unclaimed prizes revert back to the drawing pool for a future contest.
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us. You just know this had to be at a Walmart in Texas, right?
Thought For The Day – There is no better moment to postpone something you don’t want to do than right now.
