Yesterday afternoon I finished Big Lake Assault, the 23rd book in my Big Lake small town mystery series, and my 53rd book overall. It came in at 87,506 words before final editing and proofreading and took just over two months to write.
Today I will read through the last two chapters and make any needed corrections I see, then I will print them out for Terry to edit and proofread. Once she’s done with that and I make her suggested corrections, it will be off to Judy and Roberta to be proofread again. I’d like to say it will be out sometime next week, but since Terry has an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday, that may not happen. Time will tell.
While I am on the subject of writing things, I thought I would mention some blog issues that seem to keep cropping up. One is that for some reason the blog has occasionally posted while I am still making corrections to it or before I am able to insert the pictures. This is frustrating since once it is published, it automatically goes out to my subscribers and I can’t withdraw it and make corrections.
Another frustrating issue is that during some recent automatic updates, it seems that a few subscribers have stopped getting the daily blog emails. A few are still listed as subscribers but I can’t fix it from my end. The only thing I have found that works is for the subscribers to click on the subscription box on the top right sidebar and to subscribe again. If you get a message that says you are already a subscriber, you need to unsubscribe first and do it again. I know it’s frustrating, and trust me, it’s even more frustrating on my end.
