Deck Project Day Two

Scott and Alan Banks from Banks Construction LLC were back about 6 o’clock yesterday morning and working on the deck. The first step was building the stairs. We wanted two sets, one directly in line with the back door and another one on the side closest to the garage.

As they did the day before, they worked until it got too hot, then knocked off and said they would be back once the sun was on the other side of the sky and they would have some shade from the house. I didn’t blame them for that, since the heat index was 104 yesterday.

But before they left, Alan used the winch on his Toyota Tacoma to pull down the top of a broken tree that had been hanging ever since those bad storm weeks ago, as well some other big branches on the property that needed to come down. I sure appreciated that!

They were back in the afternoon to finish the job, including setting the deck posts in concrete and wrapping up both sets of stairs. We will wait a month or so for the wood to cure before staining it.

This is what the back of our house looked like before they started on Thursday morning.

And this is what it looks like now. What an improvement in 48 hours! It changes the whole look of the place.

Now we have a lot of room for grilling and relaxing as we sit back and enjoy the views across the pasture.

Alli says she approves of the job. 😊

Thanks Scott and Alan. We appreciate the fast service, the good job, and for doing everything you said you would, right on schedule. We look forward to doing business with you again on other projects.
