April is a month full of birthdays for our family. I don’t know what everybody was doing in every summer, but they darn sure were busy!
Sunday was my late brother Jack’s birthday and Tuesday was my late sister Janet’s birthday. They have both been gone for many years.
Today is our son-in-law Kenny’s birthday. Kenny is a gentle giant who treats our daughter and their kids like gold. He even cooks food in the smoker for me when I come and visit. How can you not love a guy like that?
Then the 14th is daughter-in-law Geli’s birthday, and we love this lady to the moon and back.
The 15th is our daughter Tiffany’s. How the heck did she ever grow up so fast? Wasn’t it just a month or so ago she was learning to walk?
But we’re not done yet. Our granddaughter Destiny turns 16 on the 18th. This week she got her learner’s permit, so if you’re up in the Show Low, Arizona area, stay off the roads!
My lovable, crazy, and slightly twisted cousin Bernie’s birthday is on the 20th. Bernie has my sense of humor, which means that when the two of us are together the laughs are going to be going on nonstop. We miss you, girl. We need to get together again one of these days.
And if all of those birthdays are not hard enough on the old credit card, we’ve got tax day coming on the 18th. I may need to sell some blood to make ends meet.
It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for a new Free Drawing. This week’s prize is an RV camping journal donated by Barbara House. Barbara makes several variations of these, and they all have pages where you can list the date, weather, where you traveled to and from that day, beginning and ending mileage, campground information including amenities at RV sites, a place for campground reviews, room to record activities, people met along the way, reminders of places to see and things to do the next time you’re in the area, and a page for notes for each day.
To enter, click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name (first and last) in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed.
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us. I don’t think I’ll go skating there.
Thought For The Day – None of us sits high enough to look down on somebody else.
Celebrated my 78th birthday today!
