If You Don’t Like The Weather…

You know the old saying, if you don’t like the weather wait 5 minutes? That seems to be the case here in Alabama this time of year. A couple of days ago I told you that it got so warm that Terry had to turn on the air conditioning. Then yesterday it was so darn cold that she turned the heater back on in the evening. The last two days it was in the upper 60s, it’s supposed to be 77 today, and in the 80s for the next couple of days. Every morning I have to look at the weather to see how I should get dressed for the day, and half the time I’m wrong!

I told you in yesterday’s blog that I had uploaded the print edition of Big Lake Drunk to Amazon, and it went live during the day. Several people who prefer printed books to e-books told me they have already ordered a copy. I need to order a couple of copies for my bookshelf.

I also told you about sending back the night vision binoculars I had ordered from Amazon, and mentioned that I could get better pictures just from my cell phone. This one isn’t great, but it shows at least three deer browsing in the back of our pasture about 11o’clock last night. I never got anything close to this with the camera on the night vision binoculars.

Today our son Travis and his wife Geli are coming over and we’re going to see if we can get a start on some of the gardening around here. I have not attached the tiller to my Kubota tractor yet, so we’re going to do that and see if we can start preparing the ground for Terry’s garden. She also has some trees that we want to get planted. We will be surrounding them with mesh deer fencing to hopefully keep the critters away. We are also going to plant some marigolds and other deer-resistant plants that may help, too. It’s going to be an experience.
