We hit it hard yesterday, and by the end of the day over 99% of the packing and loading was done. That included disassembling Terry’s two big Glamakra looms. I spent most of the day loading the cargo trailer while Terry was busy packing things in boxes, including her collection of antique Aladdin lamps, which are safely stowed away in the back of her Pacifica.
By the time we called it a day, somewhere around 5:30, I was totally wiped out and feeling every minute of my 70 years. And somehow, while loading the trailer, which was backed right up to the garage door, I managed to get a sunburn all over my face. As for Terry, she was working harder than me, but she never complains. However, she did say she’ll be glad to get back to Alabama and do absolutely nothing for a week or two.
Today she has one or two boxes left to fill, and some things from the refrigerator to put in a couple of coolers, and with any luck at all we’ll be on the road by noon. That will put us back in Gordo sometime Saturday afternoon. I don’t know if I will get a blog posted tomorrow. We’ll see how it goes.
That’s it for today, because I don’t have it in me to write even one more word.
Thought For The Day – I’m so old I can laugh, cough, sneeze, and pee, all at the same time.
Best sunburn remedy:As soon as possible, splash on white vinegar. This stops the process so the burn does not get worse. Then spread on Noxema. This cools and hydrates the skin so it doesn’t peel. My MIL taught me this years ago and it really does work.
