Blog A Day Late?

Lately, several people have contacted us to say that they are getting the blog a day late. At the same time, many other readers are not having any problems accessing the current blog. When I’ve talked to the technical people about this, they say it’s on the user end and that either their server has not updated or that readers should clear the cache on their computer and then refresh the screen.

I’m not going to tell you how to clear the cache on your computer because I don’t know what system you are using, but if you are one of the people having this problem, here is an easy fix. Go to the title of the blog, which in this case, I have circled in blue below. Then click on the title, and it should open to another page that looks the same. But on the new page, above the blog on the right, there should be a link to the next day’s blog if one has been posted. For example, in this case, it is Good For Old Farts and is circled in red. If you click on that, it should take you to the next day’s blog.

If the blog you have is an older one, you may have to repeat the process a time or two to get to the current blog. I’m sorry people are having this problem, but it seems to happen from time to time, and as with so many things in the world of technology, nobody really knows why.

And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us.

Be sure to enter our latest Free Drawing. This week’s prize is an audiobook of Crazy Days In Big Lake, the third book in my Big Lake mystery series. Everybody seems to have gone crazy in the little mountain community. Neighbors are threatening violence, eco-protestors are on the march, flower children are camping in the nearby forest, two of Sheriff Jim Weber’s deputies have gotten into a fistfight in the ButterCup Café, the grocery store manager has locked himself in his office and won’t come out, bears are chasing dogs into houses, and somebody has stolen the town’s mascot. As if that isn’t enough to deal with, a mild-mannered retired couple have shot an intruder during a home invasion. By the time this wild tale is finished, more blood will be shed and the good people of Big Lake will be left wondering just how well they really know their neighbors.

To enter, click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name (first and last) in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books and audiobooks to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed.

Thought For The Day – Why is there a ‘D’ in the word fridge, but not in the word refrigerator?

  1. Even though the blog is showing that it was posted the day before, I simply click on the Gypsy Journal RV Travel Newspaper and when it opens it is normally the latest posting.

    It’s about time.

  2. Today is Aug 6, but I am getting the blog for Aug 5. What is missing from your instruction display is the bit in the red circle. So, I will try the solution given by the previous commenter and see if that works!

  3. Thanks for the info. I like to read your blog with my morning coffee. The past several weeks it been getting to me in the afternoon. Now I can get it in the morning again.
