Yesterday was a totally wasted day for me. I didn’t accomplish a darn thing.
I began to feel congested on Friday evening and developed a cough, and Saturday morning Terry told me that I had wheezed all night in my sleep. I felt like I had some kind of a cold coming on, which hits me a couple of times a year, and by Saturday evening, there was no question about that in my mind. Even I could hear the wheezing, and I was doing a lot of coughing.
I took some Alka Seltzer Cold and Flu formula before I went to bed, which helped me sleep better, but when I woke up Sunday I felt like I had been hit by a truck. Achy and totally exhausted even after over eight hours of sleep. Terry made French toast for breakfast, and after eating that, I was falling asleep at the kitchen table. She told me to go sit in my recliner for a while, so I did.
“A while” turned into all day long. I woke up a couple of times to go to the bathroom, take more Alka Seltzer, and mumble something to Terry and go back to the recliner and fall asleep again. Sometime around 7:30 she woke me up to ask if I was hungry, and even though I didn’t have much of an appetite, I managed to eat dinner, which was delicious as always. We spent the evening watching television, me trying to keep my eyes open and not doing a very good job of it.
Hopefully, today will be a better day and not a total waste. I’ve got a book to write, and while the characters are eager to share the story with me, I haven’t been able to get them to actually write it and save me the work. That’s probably for the best though. They’ve already taken over my mind. If they take over my computer, who knows what the hell they might do?
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us.
Congratulations Bridget Wiemken, winner of our drawing for an RV camping journal donated by Barbara House. Barbara makes several variations of these, and they all have pages where you can list the date, weather, where you traveled to and from that day, beginning and ending mileage, campground information including amenities at RV sites, a place for campground reviews, room to record activities, people met along the way, reminders of places to see and things to do the next time you’re in the area, and a page for notes for each day.
We had 21 entries this time around. Stay tuned, a new drawing starts soon. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed.
Thought For The Day – I’m always on my best behavior. It just so happens that my best behavior is not very good.
Here’s to hoping you feel better real soon.
You should probably take a home Covid test.
You sound like my husband did a week ago. He took an at home Covid test that morning and was positive. Started Paxlovid that evening and was feeling better immediately, as well as all the rest of last week. He says the only problem is the nasty bitter taste it leaves in your mouth. But if you take it soon, you’ll hopefully be able to write while you recover. Good luck and feel better!
We had the same thing…our doc insisted we test for Covid. Although we thought couldn’t be…Steve tested positive for more than a week. Me negative.
