I wish I had something new and exciting to tell you about today but I don’t because there’s nothing new and exciting going on in our lives right now. We’re just going along day by day as time marches on.
That doesn’t mean we’re not having a good time because we always make it a point of having a good time, no matter what we’re doing. I have been keeping busy working on my new John Lee Quarrels book, and keeping Terry and my proofreaders busy as I complete more chapters for them to go through. I’m still hoping to have it finished by the end of the month.
The other day I got a special treat when Miss Terry made me some of her delicious fried chicken. It was one of the first meals she ever cooked for me when we got together and absolutely one of my favorites. If you took the best thing that Church’s, KFC, and Popeyes create and put them all together into one, it wouldn’t be a fraction as good. Golden brown, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Just the way it should be!
We did take the day off yesterday because we had to go to Port Orange for Terry to get her annual mammogram. After she was done with that, which didn’t take long at all and she said wasn’t as uncomfortable as some that she has had, we went to Salsas Cocina for an early dinner. I guess it was Taco Tuesday because the place was packed, but the service was still excellent and the food very good.
It’s been very hot and we haven’t had a lot of rain, so when we got home I turned on the sprinklers for our citrus trees since they were looking pretty thirsty. Wouldn’t you know it? About 20 minutes later a storm rolled through and drenched the area. I would have gone outside and turned the water off but there was so much lightning I wasn’t about to do that. So they definitely got drenched between myself and Mother Nature’s efforts.
We watched the evening news and then three more episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale (yes, we are obsessed with this dystopian series on Hulu), then the 11:00 o’clock news. By then, it was time to write the blog, call it a day, and get to bed. And that was our big, exciting day. Time marches on.
And finally, here’s a chuckle to start your day from the collection of funny signs we see in our travels and that our readers share with us. I think I’ll skip this place and stick to Miss Terry’s cooking.
Thought For The Day – If you replace “W” with a “T” in “What, Where and When”, you get the answer to each of them.
