Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Whoever you are and whoever you are celebrating the holiday with, I hope you have a wonderful day filled with good food, good companionship, and love.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a lot to be thankful for this year. Over all, our health is good for a couple of old farts, we have a comfortable home, we laugh every day, and we are very much in love with each other. Really, what more could anybody want?
I remember a Thanksgiving a long time ago when I was eating a C -Ration turkey dinner, and all I really wanted for Christmas was a long, hot shower. As you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal today and get into all of the holiday activities to come, please remember that there are young men and women who won’t be with their families this year. They may be eating MREs instead of C-Rations, or hopefully, they’ll at least get a mess hall meal someplace. But wherever they are and whatever they’re eating, they are doing it so that you and I and the rest of us can enjoy the day however we choose to. Those people are among what I am most thankful for this year and every year.
