Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Whoever you are and whoever you are celebrating the holiday with, I hope you have a wonderful day filled with good food, good companionship, and love.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a lot to be thankful for this year. Over all, our health is good for a couple of old farts, we have a comfortable home, we laugh every day, and we are very much in love with each other. Really, what more could anybody want?
I remember a Thanksgiving a long time ago when I was eating a C -Ration turkey dinner, and all I really wanted for Christmas was a long, hot shower. As you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal today and get into all of the holiday activities to come, please remember that there are young men and women who won’t be with their families this year. They may be eating MREs instead of C-Rations, or hopefully, they’ll at least get a mess hall meal someplace. But wherever they are and whatever they’re eating, they are doing it so that you and I and the rest of us can enjoy the day however we choose to. Those people are among what I am most thankful for this year and every year.
It’s Thursday, so it’s time for a new Free Drawing. This week’s prize is an RV camping journal donated by Barbara House. Barbara makes several variations of these, and they all have pages where you can list the date, weather, where you traveled to and from that day, beginning and ending mileage, campground information including amenities at RV sites, a place for campground reviews, room to record activities, people met along the way, reminders of places to see and things to do the next time you’re in the area, and a page for notes for each day. To enter, click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name (first and last) in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening. Note: Due to the high shipping cost of printed books and Amazon restrictions on e-books to foreign countries, only entries with US addresses and e-mail addresses are allowed.
Thought For The Day – Apparently, it’s only appropriate to say “Look at you! You got so big!” to children. Adults tend to get offended.
