We were always on the lookout for funny and oddball mailboxes as we traveled the country in our motorhome, and I’ve collected pictures of some interesting ones along the way. Some of my RVing friends have been generous enough to share the mailboxes they find in their travels, too. Seeing these, I think you will have to agree with me that there are some creative people out there. Anybody can stick an old tin box on a post but these folks weren’t satisfied with just a generic mailbox. What fun is that?
I wonder if a firefighter lives here.
So, does that mean the fellow who lives here is a helicopter pilot or a firefighter? Or maybe a helicopter flying fire fighter?
Following that line of thinking, this must be the mailbox of a garbageman.
Let me guess. Computer geek?
Mac computer geek?
Gas station attendants need mail, too.
So do surfer dudes.
This is somebody who seems to get around. Maybe an RVer?
Remember that doll house little girls of my generation always wanted? This a doll house mailbox!
We have seen several mailboxes shaped like animals. Fish are popular.
As are manatee.
And let’s not forget dogs and cats.
Or turtles and pink flamingos.
I don’t know what the heck this orange monster is but he doesn’t look all that friendly.
This guy seems happy to see us, though.
Outboard motors can be repurposed as mailboxes, too.
Remember the Shoe House I wrote about the other day? This is their mailbox. Makes sense to me.
What kind of mailbox did you expect the Escapees RV Club to have?
If you liked these, here is a link to a post from a few years ago with more of the same.
How about you? Have you seen any funny or funky mailboxes in your travels? If so, send me a picture and I’ll try to do this again sometime.
