I knocked out 5,000 words in my current book on Tuesday, and another 1500 words yesterday. I’m just under 18,000 words in the last four days. It’s coming along very well but I’m going to need a play day pretty soon. You know what they say about all work and no play.
So I think in the next couple of days we may take off and go up to Saint Augustine for the day. It’s one of our favorite cities, and we love all the history and charm of that beautiful old town. Our friend Jim hasn’t been there yet, and we’re looking forward to introducing him.
Of course, the weatherman may throw a monkey wrench into our plans if we don’t go in the next couple of days. We’ve got another cold front coming through this weekend, and it’s supposed to be down in the 50s by early next week.
Speaking of books, look what the UPS man delivered yesterday. A big box full of the new printed editions of Big Lake Abduction, Big Lake Celebration, Return to Dog’s Run, and Stillborn Armadillos. They are available now on Amazon.
While I was busy writing, Terry was busy, too. One day she made a big batch of her delicious cinnamon rolls, one of my favorite treats. She makes them from scratch, let’s the dough rise overnight, and trust me, they are just about the best thing you will ever taste.
She’s also been busy weaving, something she’s missed in the last three months or so that we’ve been busy getting settled into the new house.
Then yesterday, she and Jim repaired a leaky faucet in our bathroom sink. And as if that weren’t enough to accomplish in one week, for dinner last night, she made incredible pork tenderloin sandwiches! Jim is supposed to close on his house and start moving in next week, but after dinner last night he asked if he could just stay here and suggested we could adopt him.
It’s Thursday, so it’s time for a new Free Drawing and we’ve got a great prize this week. Jim O’Briant has donated a one year subscription to www.OvernightRVParking.com.
