I don’t have a lot of family left in the world, and I’m not that close to most of them because I have lived in different parts of the country while I pursued my newspaper career, and then traveling for the last 17 years in our motorhome publishing the Gypsy Journal RV newspaper. But yesterday I got to get to know some very special relatives.
I had met my cousin Nora Knoble briefly a time or possibly two in the past, but we are Facebook friends and chat often online. Yesterday, Nora, her husband Chris, and their daughter Emily drove three hours from their home in Norwalk, Ohio to come and visit us here at Elkhart Campground.
We all clicked instantly and had a wonderful visit. They had originally said they could only stay a couple of hours, but we were all having such a good time that the visit lasted over six hours, which was just fine with us. Chris is a very nice man with a great sense of humor, and Emily was a lot of fun, too.
Terry made some of my favorite lemon bars as a treat, and everybody liked them, of course. Then later on we went to King Wa, our favorite Chinese restaurant in the country, for dinner. Sometimes when you tell people about a restaurant that you really like, you worry whether they will enjoy it as much as you do, but that’s never the case with King Wa. The food is always delicious and the service outstanding.
Finally about 6:30, it was time to say our goodbyes, so Chris, Nora, and Emily could get started back on the long drive home. Thanks for spending so much time with us guys, we really enjoyed it and are looking forward to getting together again.
Back at home, we had a relaxing evening with Terry proofing more of my new book and me making the corrections to the manuscript as she went. Today will be more of the same and I’m pretty sure we’ll get it done and sent off to my second proofreader so she can do her thing. It won’t be long now, folks!

Thought For The Day – Wouldn’t it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for 30 minutes and come out wrinkle free and three sizes smaller?
