Yesterday was another day of working on the new issue of the Gypsy Journal and I got a lot done. By the time I wrapped it up sometime late in the evening, I only had six pages left to go. Actually, five and a half pages, because Terry’s recipe column will take up half of one of those pages.
While I was doing that, Terry was busy cooking and baking and putting together goodies to take to a family reunion today. I have four nephews and a niece who all live in the St. Petersburg/Pinellas Park area and we try to get together with them and their families whenever we visit Florida. I’m really looking forward to it.
And then Monday I’ll be back at it, trying to get the job finished so Terry can start proofing it. Once I send the link to the new issue out to our subscribers, I’ll jump back into my newest book, Return to Dog’s Run. Some interesting things were happening when I had to set it aside to work on the paper and I’m anxious to get back to it to see what develops.
After listening to my interview on guns in RVs on the Living the RV Dream podcast, somebody sent me an e-mail telling me that he had purchased a revolver three years ago for self-defense and stuck it away someplace and never fired it. But after listening to the podcast he decided he should “dig it out from wherever he had stashed it” and find a shooting range with an instructor, or at least watch some You Tube videos, which are “probably just as good.”
Friend, there are some people who really should not own a firearm and I think you may be one of them. If you have a firearm in your home or RV you should always know exactly where it is. And if you think watching videos on the computer is a substitute for hands on training with a weapon, you are as much a danger to yourself as you are to everyone around you.
Today is your last chance to enter our Free Drawing for an audiobook of Sentinel In Elysium, the first book in my pal George Wier’s Elysium Chronicles series. It’s a small town mystery I know you’re going to like. To enter, all you have to do is click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn this evening.
Thought For The Day – I may wake up early and go for a run. Or I may win the lottery. The odds are about the same.
Then there are those like me who shouldn’t own a gun because we are not mentally prepared to shoot at people. If I was dumb enough to buy a gun it would likely be used against me instead of by me. Other methods of defense are best for me.
Linda you are at least wise enough to recognize the fact that you are not mentally prepared to shoot someone. It’s a very different situation from being able to shoot a firearm versus knowing when to shoot a firearm.
By your “thought fo the day”, you must be reading my mail and my mind!
