The temperatures in the desert are inching toward the triple digits and folks from Phoenix and Tucson are headed for the cool, comfortable high country of the White Mountains. We were out running errands yesterday and there was a steady stream of cars and campers rolling through Show Low. Two of those rigs that will be arriving any day now are Terry’s parents and her sister Dani’s fifth wheel trailers, which will be at the Hon-Dah RV Park for the summer. We’re looking forward to seeing them when they get here and get settled in.
When I ran the local weekly newspaper here years ago I drove south of town on U.S. Highway 60 one evening and set up my camera and tripod on a hill and got some amazing shots of all the traffic that looked like a solid line of light coming up out of the Salt River Canyon. Like in any tourist area, the locals look forward to the boost the summer visitors bring to the economy, but at the same time they long for the time when they all go back home and life slows down to a normal pace again.
If you have ever considered working on the road, one of the best things you can do is attend a Workamper Rendezvouz, sponsored by Workamper News. The three-day, educational event will focus on topics to help RVers and workampers make the most of living and working on the road, and help those just dreaming to enter the lifestyle with more confidence. The next Rendezvous will be held October 20-22 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. For more information, check their website at https://workamperevent.com/
We were supposed to get our new tires put on yesterday, but there was a delay and they didn’t arrive from the warehouse, so we rescheduled for Monday. No problem, we’ve always got plenty to keep us busy.
Miss Terry finished editing and proofing Big Lake Honeymoon and I made all of the corrections and sent it off to my next proofreader. It won’t be long now! The Big Lake books have been available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, but I also loaded them up to iTunes, Kobo, Page Foundry, Scribd, and Tolino, so no matter how you read your e-books, we should have you covered.

Thought For The Day – Be master of your petty annoyances and conserve your energies for the big, worthwhile things. It isn’t the mountain ahead that wears you out, it’s the grain of sand in your shoe. – Robert W. Service

Make sure that you check the dates on your tires BEFORE they start the install. If they are specified RV tires AND you had wait for them the dates are critical. My friend ordered the tires and they were almost two years old. He said he wanted a new tires. He waited 2 more day but the 2nd set was new. Seems like RV tires are never in stock because some dealers send them back to be sold to another dealer when needed
Nice to hear you are in warmer weather when you want it. Have a super day!
