Catch Up Time

Since vending and seminars ended for us on Wednesday and we didn’t have far to go to our next destination, we slept in until 9 yesterday morning. That sure felt good after the last few hectic days.

Several people wanted bundles of the Gypsy Journal to drop off in their travels, including our pals Dave and Lynn Cross, who took four bundles. This really helps us spread the word about the paper and introduces a lot of new people to our work. Once all of the papers were gone I stopped to thank Escapade Directors Bob and Molly Pinner for all of their hard work and their kindness to us in so many ways. I also saw Bud and Cathie Carr and visited with them for a few minutes.

Back at our site, I chatted with our neighbors for a while about a deal they had working on a new-to-them motorhome, and then got everything unhooked so we were ready to roll. We left the fairgrounds about 12:30 and followed Greg and Jan White five miles on Interstate 10 and into Voyager RV Resort. We’ll all be here for a week, which cost us $33.21 total under our Thousand Trails membership. That’s a heck of a deal for such a highly rated place!

Once we were parked and hooked up, Greg and I ran up to the office to register, and then I came home to answer a backlog of e-mail. By the time that was done I was feeling droopy so I took a well deserved nap. Terry woke me up a little before 4 p.m. and we picked up Greg and Jan and drove into town to meet our pals Tom and Barb Westerfield for dinner. The food was good and the conversation was even better.

I have to go back to the VA hospital for another appointment this morning, and then it’s catch up time – catching up on all of the paperwork that accumulated during the rally, catching up on some orders that need to be mailed out, catching up on some book promotions that got pushed to the side during the rally, and catching up on our rest. That’s the one I’m really looking forward to. Smile

We are already getting a tremendous response to this week’s Free Drawing for an autographed copy of Terry’s popular cookbook, Miss Terry’s Kitchen. In the first 24 hours after I announced the prize we had 185 entries. To enter, all you have to do is click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening.

  1. I was wondering why you had to pay at thousands trails?
I was under the impression that you only paid an annual fee.
I want to thank you for your blog, I have really enjoyed it.
    Thanks again Brett

  2. Brett,
Thousand Trails members pay their annual dues, which entitles them to usually 50 nights of camping. After that they pay a small fee per night at Thousand Trails campgrounds. There are also some affiliated campgrounds and resorts like Voyager that are not part of the Thousand Trails system but have a limited number of sites available to Thousand Trails members at a discount.

  3. thank you Nick
I’ve looking into a TT membership
