Whatever you’re doing, stop it right now and tell that special person in your life that you love them. Not because it’s Valentine’s Day, just because you should do it every chance you get.

We’re not big on giving each other gifts on holidays because that’s not what they should be about. All year long we treat each other with love, and we don’t need to spend money to do it. It’s the little things – the gentle pat on the shoulder as we pass, holding hands, the special treats Miss Terry makes for me, and me holding doors for her.

But this year Terry did give me a special gift for Valentine’s Day. She came down with a real nasty cold about the time we got to Mission, and has been feeling crappy all week. And because we share everything, she gave it to me. How sweet is that?

Of course, being a guy, I know mine is worse. It must be, because Terry suffered in silence. But I don’t have her stoicism, I’m whining and sniveling for all I’m worth. We had several people we had hoped to visit with while we were here but we’d prefer not to make everybody sick, so we’re going to have to ask for a rain check. It’s bad enough that our friend Jim is suffering right along with us.

Today is our last day here at Pleasant Valley RV Resort and I had hoped to get over to the clubhouse and throw some darts again, but based upon the way I feel right now, that’s probably not a good idea. I’ll probably just stay home and practice looking pathetic.

Have you entered our latest Free Drawing yet? This week’s prize is an audiobook of The Music Box by Heather Meyer. It’s the story of a young woman scarred by her father’s suicide on her fourteenth birthday and struggling to accept why it happened. She escapes the city and settles in a small town to write his story and meets a young man struggling to come to grips with his own father’s legacy. It’s a story you won’t soon forget. To enter, all you have to do is click on this Free Drawing link or the tab at the top of this page and enter your name in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening.

Thought For The Day – Wouldn’t it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes and come out wrinkle free and two sizes smaller?
