Last night I finished my newest book, Big Lake Scandal, and printed it out for Terry to proof. Once she gets done I’ll pass it on to a second reader. Meanwhile, my cover artist will be designing the cover. Hopefully I’ll have the e-book version out about the third week of August. The printed edition takes a while longer to format and get printed.
This is the fifth book in my Big Lake mystery series and I hope my readers enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I’ll give you a couple of hints of what’s coming – at least one of the regular characters will die, you’ll meet a new recurring character, and there’s a wedding. Hmmm… I wonder who they are.
I always have a good feeling when I type the last page in a book and I can’t wait to begin the next one. Several readers have asked me how long I expect to continue the Big Lake series. I have five more of the books rattling around inside my head. Not counting a dozen others that are not part of the series that I’d like to get written, if I could only find the time.
While I spent most of yesterday writing, I did take a break so we could go to dinner with Greg and Jan at a small place called Capricorn Inn that has very good reviews on Yelp. It wasn’t big and it wasn’t fancy, but the service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. They serve some of the best burgers to be found anywhere, and Terry and Jan said their chicken strips were outstanding. This one definitely gets added to our Favorite Restaurants guide!
If we drag ourselves out of bed early enough this morning we may sneak over to the Caesar Creek Flea Market again, and this afternoon we’re going to go back to Lebanon with Greg and Jan. We really enjoyed the little town when we had lunch there with Davy Boggs and his family a few days ago and we want to go back and check out some of the shops along the main street. And the ice cream parlors. Definitely the ice cream parlors!
This is our last day here in Ohio, we’ll be leaving tomorrow for Pennsylvania, while Greg and Jan head off in the other direction to Houston for some family time and then another stint of gate guarding. We’ve been hanging out and traveling together since the middle of May and we’ll be sad to part company. But as I always say, the great thing abut the RV lifestyle is that we know we’ll cross paths with our friends again somewhere down the road.

Thought For The Day – Here’s how I see math problems – If you have four oranges and I have three apples, how many pancakes will fit on the roof? None, because George Washington didn’t drive a Volkswagen.
