It Won’t Be Long Now

A cold front is making its way across Arizona, bringing a mixture of rain and snow to the high country, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s and lows in the upper 20s for the next couple of days. Down here in the desert we’re in the low 70s during the day and upper 40s at night. I know that’s not as bad as some parts of the country, but there is a reason we’re not in those parts of the country!

But it won’t be long now. Tomorrow we’re running down to Tucson for another appointment at the V.A. hospital, and if the weather cooperates, we’ll head up to the White Mountains on Saturday. We plan to spend a couple of weeks parked at my daughter Tiffany’s place a few miles outside of Show Low, and then it will be time for us to begin our trip east to Goshen, Indiana for the Escapees Escapade Rally in mid-May. We always hate leaving our family here in Arizona, but we’re both looking forward to seeing green grass, trees with leaves, and rivers with water in them again. We’ve had more than enough of the desert for a while. If we didn’t have so much family here we probably would not come back to Arizona very often.

I am a featured speaker at Escapade and will be presenting five different seminars, Highway History & Back Road Mystery, Tips and Techniques of Living Well off the Grid, The Frugal RVer, The Reluctant RVer, and Full-timing FAQs. Greg and Jan have worked as gate guards several times at different drilling sites in Texas and when he presented the seminar at our Gypsy Journal rally it was so popular that we had to schedule a second time slot for it because so many people wanted to attend. And, of course, we’ll have a vendor booth in the market area at Escapade, passing out sample copies of the Gypsy Journal, selling subscriptions and our books and RV guides. I hope we see you there.
