As I have mentioned a few times recently, I’ve been busy working on a new book formatting project that has taken quite a while to get finished. Well, I finally wrapped it up Thursday night, and I’m excited to tell you that we have a new author in the family!

That’s right. In response to so many of your requests over the years, Terry has published over 275 of the most popular recipes from her RV cooking column in the Gypsy Journal in a new e-book titled Miss Terry’s Kitchen, and it’s now available on Amazon!

Among the most requested recipes in the cookbook are her famous cinnamon rolls, several of her breads, her pizza recipes, her marinated pork tenderloin, and her shredded beef for tacos and burritos. But that’s just a small sample. She’s been busy!

I announced the new book about 1 p.m. yesterday and before midnight it had climbed to #6,457 Paid in the Amazon Kindle Store and #3 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Cookbooks, Food & Wine > Meals. In the next few days I plan to reformat and upload the book to Barnes & Noble for Nook readers, and we’ll be bringing out a printed version too, but that takes a while longer.

While formatting a cookbook e-book is quite different from the other books I’ve done on Amazon, the hardest part of this project has been convincing Miss Terry that enough of you want her book to make it worthwhile. I bet she’ll be convinced when she sees the numbers! Thanks to all of you who have been urging Terry to do this for so long. And Terry, I’m very, very proud of you!

And now I have to get back to work on my next Big Lake book. I have to keep up with the live in competition!

Bad weather has hit Arizona, with rain here in the desert and high winds and snow in the high country. The full brunt of the storm is supposed to be here later today and it will start clearing out by Sunday. I’m glad we don’t have to be anywhere, and since we set our own schedule and work here in our home on wheels, we don’t even have to complain about our weekend being ruined like those folks who work traditional 9 to 5 jobs.

Have you entered this week’s drawing yet? We’re doing something different for this week’s Free Drawing. We’re giving away two audiobooks from my friend Carol Ann Newsome; A Shot in the Bark and Drool Baby, from her popular Dog Park mystery series. All you have to do is click on the Free Drawing link and enter your name in the comments section at the bottom of that page (not this one). Only one entry per person per drawing please, and you must enter with your real name. To prevent spam or multiple entries, the names of cartoon or movie characters are not allowed. The winner will be drawn Sunday evening.

  1. Good luck Terry on the book. But something tells me you really don’t need luck as your husband is proof positive that your cooking is great! All kidding aside I will be purchasing that book today for my wife.

Sorry Nick, just had to do it 🙂

  2. I’ll be waiting for that printed version! I’m also waiting for the next BIG LAKE installment also. Oh yeah, good eats and good reading!

first, hope it is cinnamon rolls. I am wasting away.

  5. Got the book. Tell Miss Terry thanks.

  6. Congratulations Terry!

  7. the link to Amazon finally let me stay on, it is our WiFi system here in the park that is a minor problem right now and it is being corrected as I type. I cannot wait to try some of Terry’s recipes of course they will never be at her level. Congratulations Terry.

  8. I got the book as soon as I saw your post on FB. Spent the evening reading it. So many wonderful recipes I need to try. Thanks Ms Terry! Now I can make my hubby as happy as you make yours.

  10. I bought The book yesterday…Havent had a chance to read much yet…but can’t wait….Awsome Terry…Thank you….and Congrats…

  11. Thanks, Nick for gently nagging Terry to publish that cookbook. We’re Fulltimers as well, and it would have paid $5 for that pizza recipe alone. I love love love my Breville toaster oven and use it almost daily. Nick–two of your books showed up as Amazon editors’ picks today, so expect a jump in sales. You two might want to pick up some lottery tickets!

  12. I bought Terry’s cookbook expecting a lot of good recipes and value for the money, but I was wrong. It is so much more than I ever expected! Wow and double Wow!!! Not just recipes but conversion charts that I always have to look up on the internet and more fabulous recipes than I could cook in a year. MISS TERRY, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I LOVE IT!! Just bought two more copies sent to my sister and daughter.

  13. My wife (Doreen) just bought it, Thanks Miss Terry for the wonderful cook Book.

  14. Terry, just bought the book. Nick, thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to some RV kitchen specific/tested recipes.

  15. I am so excited that Terry has finally put together a cookbook.

While I really appreciate so many benefits of e-books (space savings, cost vs. print, ease of always finding something new to read, etc.), I have discovered that I prefer cookbooks in a printed format, so I will wait (anxiously) for Terry’s book to come out in that format.

Thank you, Terry, for sharing your knowledge with us!
