A Lot Accomplished

A lot has been accomplished in the last few days, and it’s a good feeling. Very good, indeed!

I worked hard on the paper again all day yesterday, and by the time I knocked off a little before midnight I had the new issue of the Gypsy Journal finished, except for the front page photo. I will put that in this morning, then print it out so Miss Terry can proof it, then make the final corrections and uploaded it to our printer’s Web server.

As I mentioned the other day, I also managed to figure out the problem with the photos in my Highway History and Back Road Mystery e-book and reloaded it in the Amazon Kindle bookstore. A couple of folks who have bought it since then said that the photos are coming in fine now. Thanks for getting back to me and letting me know.

And late yesterday evening my friend Chris Yust called to tell me that she had finished proofreading my newest book, Crazy Days in Big Lake. Thank you for all your hard work, Chris, even on your birthday. I’m going to try real hard to get all the corrections made this week and get it published by the weekend. I’m always excited when I publish a new book, and both Terry and Chris have told me that this one is the best yet. As soon as it’s published I will let everybody know.

We did take a break yesterday afternoon long enough to go to dinner at Bob Evans with Ron and Brenda Speidel. It’s always nice to spend time with close friends, and those two are some of the best.

Today, once the new issue is finished and uploaded, we will get the info letters for our Ohio Gypsy Journal Rally ready to send out. It’s only going to be a couple more weeks before we go to Celina to make final rally preparations. We’re going to have a lot of fun, so if you haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for?

We are already making our winter plans, and even though we don’t usually make a lot of reservations in advance, we know that in Florida, it’s necessary during the snowbird season. As of now I have us booked in for three weeks at the Three Flags Mid-Atlantic Resort in Wildwood starting November 21st. From there we will go directly to the Orlando Thousand Trails preserve for another three weeks. That will bring us to January 2nd. Somewhere along the way, before and after those appointments, we want to spend a week or two in the Florida Keys, and a couple of weeks over around Crystal River so we can paddle our kayaks with the manatees again.

And then we have to start thinking about our trip West to get ready for our Arizona Gypsy Journal Rally the end of February.

Thought For The Day – I didn’t like my beard at first. Then it grew on me.

  1. Thought for the Day – your also so old you used the same one two days in a row. Thanks for the blog.

  2. Yeah, I changed it. Changed what? I forgot?

  3. You are going to enjoy your TT upgrade and getting to stay three weeks at a time. . .and I’m going to enjoy your updates on the parks, so we’ll know which ones to book when we head that direction!

  4. If you’re at Celina on the weekend of the 14th-16th, you will be there when the Gold Wing Org will be there for their Region rally. Should be lots of pretty bikes there.

  5. Nick, we live in Cape Coral, FL when we are not in the RV. Last year in March our Escapees freinds Becky & Lonnie from Twin Falls, ID were in town. They had trouble finding a campsite in Lee County but had no problem getting a site in the Keys. Sometimes the perception of crowding creates interesting problems & oportunities. If you’re looking for a stop off of I-75, you’ve got our email. Haven’t seen you two since the last Life on Wheels in Moscow, ID. What year was that? and how many miles have we traveled since then?
