We had planned to take the ferry over to Seattle yesterday, but I wasn’t feeling well, so I wimped out and spent most of the day being lazy. I think Miss Terry was just as happy to stay home and relax after all of her work the day before, smoking ribs for our Independence Day cookout.
Finally about 5 p.m. I got in gear enough to have dinner, do some writing, and work on this blog. I added an E-Book Store page, with links to all of my e-books on Amazon. With more and more RVers getting e-book readers, we are finding a growing market for digital information. I don’t have them on the E-Book Store yet, but we can supply all of our RV publications, such as our Guide To Free Campgrounds, RVers Guide To Fairgrounds Parking, Casino Parking guide, etc in PDF format for the Kindle, Nook, etc. All are fully searchable by city and state. If you want any of these publications, just go to our old RVers Bookstore and scroll down toward the bottom of the page and order the print books, and include a note that you want an e-book instead.
While we’re on the subject of electronic goodies, Woodalls, the campground directory folks, have brought out a free new mobile application called RV & Camping Copilot, offering one-touch access to nearly 12,000 campgrounds in the United States and Canada. The app supports the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. The company is encouraging users to write a review of the new app in the iTunes App store and on Woodall’s Facebook page. Those that write reviews on both will be automatically entered to win $250 cash. So download the app, leave a review, and you might make some money. And even if you don’t win, the app is really cool.
Microsoft Streets & Trips has also kicked off their Cruisin’ the National Parks Trivia Sweepstakes. The contest runs through Labor Day, with a new trivia question posted every Tuesday. As a part of the National Parks theme, participants will have a chance to win Visa cash cards, and Microsoft will also be donating $1 per person to the National Park Foundation for every person that “likes” them on the Streets & Trips Facebook page.
Another company that is doing something we can all appreciate is WalMart, which has announced a ten cent a gallon rollback on gasoline and diesel at participating Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations in eighteen states. This link will take you to the company’s announcement on the program, which is good through September 30. Just my luck, I am not anywhere near a store where I can take advantage of the discount, but hopefully some of you can.
You all knew Bad Nick couldn’t sit by quietly and not weigh in on the Casey Anthony acquittal, and sure enough, he has something to say. Check out his new Bad Nick Blog post titled The Most Hated Woman In America and leave a comment.
